Memorize? Okay, memorize Circle casting and ending if you use the same one every time, but I get bored with the same rites all the time.I think so do the Spirits. New material brings new excitment & I have my paper(s) handy and read.I’ve been at it 28 years & I hate getting in the middle and forgetting what I was going to say or do.Paper or BOS keeps things flowing smoothly.

Magickal cooking/whisk-Seems to go together, right. The whisk whips air into foods. How about a recipe for the mind, intelligence or communication using the whisk as a wand to whip air into the sauce or eggs for fertile ideas?

I’m inclined to think that the energies would be different for each kind of ritual type. Spontaneous rituals/magic may be like a firecracker or bomb - fast and powerful energy that sets things in motion quickly. Memorized rituals may have a subdued, controlled but deliberate energy. Rituals that are read will rely heavily on the Witch’s will for energy but will provide more guidance that a spontaneous spell.
I don’t think any one of them is best but rather situational. And I gotta say, this isn’t DnD - a the idea that all spells and rituals must be memorized made me giggle with geek amusement.
